Weekly Assignment Recap
April 17th – 21st: For our Duval Read’s assignments this week, I introduced the third set of high-frequency words. The students are working hard at coding, reading and spelling these unique words. For our Duval Math assignments this week, I introduced a “Doubles plus one” song along with the math curriculum that corresponds with this song. We will continue to elaborate on this section next week. I would like to take this time to say a special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Holland for working diligently with their son James on his reading skills. Hooray! James for increasing three reading levels this week from a letter B to a letter E. Please continue to encourage your child to read every night.
April 10th- 14th: For our Duval Read’s assignment, this week, I introduced the second set of high-frequency words. The students are eager to learn new vocabulary to increase their reading abilities. For our Duval Math this week, I continued our curriculum of learning how to add doubles and encourage the children to sing the “Doubles Rap” while they finished their assignments. Thank you, parents, for all your help encouraging your children to learn this song. A special warm and fuzzy for Lyla Sanders for increasing her reading level from a level A to a level C! Please continue to encourage your child to read every night.
April 3rd-7th: For our Duval Read’s assignments, this week, I introduced the first set of high-frequency words to the students. These words do not follow the normal phonics rules and with repetition, the students will develop a higher confidence level when reading their books assigned to them. For our Duval Math assignments, I introduced the “Doubles Rap” song which corresponds with the addition curriculum this week. Please encourage your student to practice this song at home. LARGE congratulations to Eric Peterson for increasing his reading level from a letter D to a letter G. WAY TO GO!!!! Please encourage your child to read every night.
